youth hub - the creative way

Follow the Creative Way at this year’s Lismore Lantern Parade to discover some of the great music and art blossoming in our community as well as nourish your own creative blooms by contributing on the open jam stage , to collaborative painting, sketching and more.

Be drawn in by the eclectic beats and live hip hop from the Bass Bug at the corner of Magellan and Carrington Street. Here you can catch great young performers or get into it yourself and join a hip hop cypher with MC Kron or dance jam and freestyle with Ellapink from Sistagurl.

Head into Market Delight on Carrington street for some tasty treats and then delve into the Back Alley Gallery to check out the spectacular graffiti pieces, watch some live painting or join the graffiti workshop hosted by INTRA. Down Eggins Lane behind the Mecca Café you will find the gem that is ArtWomb – featuring live original and improvised music where you are also invited to contribute. Alongside this share your stories through pictures on the large collaborative canvas or settle down to draw in the ArtWomb sketchbooks.

Musicians featured on the ArtWomb stage will include spectacular songstress Penny Skehan, jazz guitarist and poet Scot Freeand MC/singer Muana.

The Laneway will also feature the Young@Art Suitcase Sale, your opportunity to pick up something special as young people from the area bring their funky wares or creations to the marketplace.

The Creative Way then takes you further along the laneway past Lismore’s iconic street art and then leads you right through the arcade where you can sample gourmet cuisine and regional products at the secret deli before emerging on Keen Street across from The Quad.
