flood recovery appeal
LightnUp inc Headquarters were flooded over 2 metres deep, by ex-cyclone Debbie. Important documents, electrical equipment and many craft materials were destroyed or compromised by floodwater.
All our furniture is sodden, and most of our lanterns need significant repair. We are not insured for flood damage.
Our community has contributed many volunteer hours cleaning, since floodwaters cleared.
Your donation can help us recover, in time for Luminous festival welcoming refugees in Brisbane June 9th and Lismore Lantern Parade June 24th 2017. You can help us to repair our workspaces, replace equipment and most importantly: repair our unique hand crafted lanterns!
Your cash donation will enable us to make repairs to;
- Tissue paper, fabric, sequins, paint and glue
- Electrical components & batteries
- Bamboo, wire and tools
- Electrical safety check and repair
