We are always looking for enthusiastic people to work with us!
LightnUp is a not for profit community arts organisation and is responsible for the delivery of the Lismore Lantern Parade and 35 other festivals and events held each year throughout Australia.
We provide part time employment for up to 10 local Lismore residents throughout the year and invite our community to be involved in a number of ways through volunteering, organising a group in the parade, internship programs and becoming a parade participant.

The Community Lanterns Project celebrates 25 years of bringing light to the heart of the Lismore city. The Lismore Lantern Parade is Lismore’s iconic signature event, and is a tradition in the true sense of the word.
The Community Lanterns Project provides opportunities for people to celebrate, have fun and express themselves in a creative way, while raising the profile of their local charities and community organisations, and the businesses supporting them (read more)

Have you always wanted to participate in the parade, but did not know how? Get a group of friends, your community group or just a wonderful solo you. Dress up, make some funky musical instruments or maybe a wacky and wonderful performance piece that links in with the theme 'Rivers of Light'. You're only limited by your own imagination... volunteer
The Lantern Parade simply could not operate without the generous support of its wonderful team of volunteers. Volunteers have the opportunity to work alongside the team to deliver this exciting signature event. Whether you are already volunteering or just starting out, volunteering is a great way to help others, meet new people, build new skills, experience new challenges, build up work experience and make an extraordinary contribution to our local community. internships
The Lantern Parade offers a limited number of unpaid internships to individuals interested in gaining valuable practical experience across a range of areas. Working alongside leading industry professionals, interns contribute to the administration, operation, promotion and delivery of the Lismore Lantern Parade. In doing so interns gain great insight into the operations of a highly successful event and the chance to work with caring individuals who are proud to live and work in Lismore. Internships are available to all, but preference will be given to students and recent graduates of a related field of study.
