LightnUp is a not for profit community arts organisation and is responsible for the delivery of the Lismore Lantern Parade and 35 other festivals and events held each year throughout Australia. We provide part time employment for up to 10 local Lismore residents throughout the year. Employment opportunities vary depending on the project or event. We are not recruiting at this stage but you can be involved as a volunteer and we also encourage and proudly support internship programs.
The Lantern Parade simply could not operate without the generous support of its wonderful team of volunteers. Volunteers have the opportunity to work alongside the team to deliver this exciting signature event. Whether you are already volunteering or just starting out, volunteering is a great way to help others, meet new people, build new skills, experience new challenges, build up work experience and make an extraordinary contribution to our local community. The Lantern Parade offers a limited number of unpaid internships to individuals interested in gaining valuable practical experience across a range of areas. Working alongside leading industry professionals, interns contribute to the administration, operation, promotion and delivery of the Lismore Lantern Parade. In doing so interns gain great insight into the operations of a highly successful event and the chance to work with caring individuals who are proud to live and work in Lismore. Internships are available to all, but preference will be given to students and recent graduates of a related field of study. The Lantern Parade will work closely with the student and the educational provider to satisfy course requirements. Read more
